WOW! What a year!

As I look back over 2015, I am amazed at all I was able to witness and be a part of during the past 12 months.  I got to see some of the best concerts of the year:  Billy Joel, Wanda Sykes, The Rolling Stones, Idina Menzel, Janet Jackson and Lights.  I saw Matilda and Wicked on Broadway plus the Orlando Broadway series shows too.  I watched my fair share of Orlando Magic games in the Amway Center and Orlando City Soccer games at the Citrus Bowl.  I even traveled with friends to the last game of the season in Philadelphia to watch the Lions play.

This is the same year that I also traveled to Reno, Las Vegas, NYC and DC.  I left the country a few times visiting Antigua and Jamaica.

My Mom celebrated her 80th birthday.  She has been a stroke survivor for 9 years.  She had double cataract surgery this summer.  And we both survived it!!

I made it through this year without having any surgeries, which was a blessing in itself.

I completed the Orange County Bar Association's Leadership Law classes.  I met wonderful people as fellow classmates and as "instructors" through the five month experience.

I started a business, Caring for Family Caregivers, to help people, who have obligations like mine to a loved one, to live their best lives while being a family caregiver.  And the business is catching on!  I am meeting new people all the time that add depth to my vision and, in turn, can add more to the lives of family caregivers.  We are really going places!  There is so much more that 2016 holds!

This year, I learned to listen better, show more compassion and empathy.  I got a few lessons in speaking up and what my voice can do when I use it.  On my way to fearless, I found less fear.  If I had not been there, I would not have believed it all happened to me in this short span of time.  God has shown me so much this year and it is just the tip of the iceberg.

I am very thankful for all those who have helped me through the year on all fronts.  I am very fortunate to have such good friends and loyal associates (or vice-versa).

For 2016, I will continue to model what I want others grab on to.  I will continue to walk out my mission and vision for a healthy, engaged community of family caregivers; helping people one-on-one and in group settings.  Because it shouldn't have to be so hard.

And I look forward to more adventures!!  I can't wait to see what 2016 brings!
